THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER

It’s Charlie’s first high school year, he´s a freshmen, he is really scared because of getting to school being one of the youngest. Charlie then meets some friends called Sam and Patrick, then it turns out they were step brother and sister, they meet Charlie and invite him to join their group. Charlie learns about drugs, literature, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” writing, and also a lot about himself in the time of his first year of high school as a freshmen. His story is told through a letters that Charlie writes to a female mysterious stranger.

I personally liked a lot the book, my biggest reason is that it draws the big reality of our age and it was a really relateable text which I identified a lot with. They talk about different parts of being a teenage focusing about all of the new experiences you have in this transitional stage of your life, I would recommend this book to teenagers from ages 13 to 17.

MY BOOKS

Chbosky is clearsighted about the harsh realities of sexual identity, drug use and mental illness, but alert to the scars left by emotional wounds.

ROLLING STONES magazine

The Perks of Being A Wallflower might not become as iconic as the best-selling book, but its insights into the inner lives of teenagers remain as affecting and rare as they were when the novel was published 10 years ago. Chbosky can't reinvent the characters he created for the novel, but he's definitely done right by them.

CinemaBlend.com KATEY RICH

1) ¨ I´m sorry I bothered you, Susan. I´m just having a toughtime. That´s all. Have a good one,¨

2) ¨Next time just watch him a little fucking better¨, then he walked away

3) ¨Dear Friend,

A few days ago, I went to see Bob to boy more pot.¨

1) Susan is a really false person, she pretends she has no wounds just to look popular and not reveal that her past was being the same as charlie

2) This big boy really had a nice heart, but he was tough, he just said that phrase in order to not look vulnerable

3) POT DEFINITION: drugs; cocaine, marihuana, etc.
